Project Overview:

Not A School Day is a one-day event focused on creative learning and experimentation. The day will include five classes, an interactive session, and a fun extra-curricular activity. The event will also be live-streamed on Instagram and YouTube so more people can join in.

What’s Happening?

❇️ 5 Classes – A mix of presentations and demonstrations:

4 classes led by different hosts, sharing their creative process and techniques.

- Building a Song: Words, Melody, Emotion & Technique — Hosted by Kyabo
- Particles & Frequencies: Audio-Driven Design in TouchDesigner — Hosted by Mike Ngudle & Jordan Bareis
- Make More with Less: A Low-Budget Filmmaking Workshop — Hosted by Jason Monlink
1 interactive class, curated by Mbako Moemise, where participants contribute to a shared theme.

❇️ THE BIG CHESSER TOURNAMENT

A chess competition with 8 players, where matches continue until only one winner remains.

❇️ Live Broadcast

Everything, including the classes and chess tournament, will be streamed live and archived on Instagram and YouTube.

❇️ Host

The day will be hosted by Lunathi Kondlo, who will guide the event and keep things flowing.

Goals of the Event

Share knowledge and skills in a creative, informal setting.
Encourage participation and interaction, whether in a class, discussion, or the chess tournament.
Make learning accessible by streaming the event online.
